Fungus Gnat Control

Diatomaceous Earth helps combat Fungus gnats primarily by killing the larvae stages which live in and on top of the soil. Apply a thin, even layer of dry DE to the top of the potting mix and reapply it after watering, once the surface of the soil dries out again.

For Diatomaceous Earth to work as an insecticide, it must remain a dry, fine powder. When DE gets wet, it loses its microscopic, abrasive structure and becomes ineffective, so it must be reapplied after watering.
