Wow what a year!
With Australia's wild fires in early 2020, racial tensions over Police Brutality
and the novel Coronavirus sweeping the Globe, we have to say, we’re thankful to have a roof over our heads, a place to go to work & to be this deep into the year without getting sick. We’ll never take that for granted!
The Alberta Government made a recent announcement on the health care measures being put in place to catch up with the rest of Canada. In this most recent address they are allowing small business to accept walk-in traffic with reduced capacity to 15% of fire code.
Consumers are encouraged to attempt their Christmas Shopping online as much as possible to reduce their public interactions, which is a sentiment we support fully.
In 2016, we started our first online store, and it has morphed a lot since then! (If you haven’t visited our online shop in a while, give it a looksie!)
With that said, Lorraine and I (Shawn) in June decided to return the Greenhouse in-store shopping experience, to a seasonal venture, and closed the doors of the Greenhouse. We leaned a little harder into our online presence in the Fall, and feel like we made the right decisions for public safety, our own mental health and the prosperity of the Greenhouse in that time.
We decided to open again this Christmas, and have been open for in-store shopping starting November 27th, 2020. Even with this modification, we are still finding that our customer base prefers the online shopping experience, with over 75% of our sales happening online! We appreciate the feedback to that shopping experience, and believe it is the most responsible way for us to continue the Braeheid experience for the time being.
With that in mind, we have decided to close the in-store shopping experience earlier than planned, and will now close the Greenhouse doors on Monday December 14th, until Spring 2021.
We are in full planning mode, placing orders for Annuals, Perennials, Containers, Trees, Shrubs and soil daily and renovating the greenhouse back into the distanced shopping experience we created in the Spring of 2020!
We’re so excited to see you all, walk in the green grass and smell the blossoms on the fruit trees in the Spring!
